The Red Hook Public Library has 2 book discussion groups that meet in the library conference room - an afternoon group and an evening group. Listed below are teh books we are reading. We always welcome new members. Join us for any of the discussions. Please call the library at 845-758-3241 during regular hours for more information and if there is inclement weather on discussion day.

Afternoon Group: 2:30pm
generally meets 2nd Tuesday of the month

January 13, 2010 The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery
February 9, 2010: The Chateau by William Maxwell
March 9, 2010 The Plague of Doves by Louise Erdrich

Evening Group: 7pm
generally meets on the third Monday of each month at 7 PM. The library closes exactly at 7 during the winter months so if you're a little bit late, please use the downstairs door near the back parking lot (note some location changes below).

February 15: Let the Great World Spin by Colum McCann [meet at Taste Budds]
March 15: Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese [meet at Taste Budds]
April 19: Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
May 10: The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald [not our usual date but there's a scheduling conflict]
June 21: Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout
July 19: Middlemarch by George Eliot [don't put off reading this--it's long]
