Red Hook Area Chamber of Commerce
Facilitating a Supportive Business Environment While Cultivating Relationships Among Members, Visitors and the Community”

The Red Hook Area Chamber of Commerce was established in 1960 and is operated by elected volunteer business members.

The Chamber was organized for the purpose of advancing the trade, commercial, industrial and civic interests of the Red Hook Area.

The Chamber of Commerce works with local artists to create the Red Hook Community Arts Network , whose primary goal is to promote Red Hook as an arts destination. The Red Hook area is lucky to have an enormous artistic base, and together with RHCAN, the Chamber hopes to incorporate business, tourism and the arts.

Historic Red Hook
We collect, care for and celebrate Red Hook’s past and future treasures:
• Stories, images and records of our people at work and play, of our farms, businesses, schools and churches
• Records of memorable events, important journals, letters, maps and
• Much, much more

Red Hook Police
We are very proud to have been selected to serve our Red Hook community. We recognize the enormous trust and responsibility that has been placed in our hands and we strive to serve with the upmost degree of courtesy, professionalism, and integrity.

We are dedicated toward providing police services in and for our community not as passive responders, but instead as community members that are invested in the quality of life in Red Hook. Our entire operational and leadership philosophy centers on the community policing style of providing services.

The community policing approach differs from the tradition policing model in that community policing focuses resources proactively on quality of life concerns and prevention strategies as opposed to reactively to reports of crimes and other disturbances already in progress.

Bard College Center for Civic Engagement
we geek bard cceThe Center for Civic Engagement at Bard College embodies the fundamental belief that education and civil society are inextricably linked. In an age of information overload, it is more important than ever that citizens be educated and trained to think critically and be actively engaged with issues affecting public life. Through its educational endeavors in the United States and abroad, CCE demonstrates a firm conviction that institutions of higher education can and should operate in the public interest.

CCE and the Bard network use their resources to develop vibrant and sustainable programs that tackle critical issues of education and public policy. With an entrepreneurial spirit and a sense of civic duty inspired by social consciousness, the Center for Civic Engagement creates and sustains reciprocal programs and relationships locally, nationally, and globally.
